![]() From time to time some of them call for help, mostly having no idea that it's actually a commercial product, and almost all of them purchase a license (they can "legalise" their copy) and become one more regular customer after realising that their instance is actually illegal. Yes, there are plenty of "cracked" copies to download and they're just a few clicks away for anyone who might be interested in getting one, and there are plenty of them running and calling home for an update check (though not getting it and always receiving a "you're up to date" message). Even the "license file" was (probably still is) plain PHP. ![]() ![]() I've worked for a company which sells its product as a self-hosted solution, and we've been doing that without literally any obfuscation since day one, for almost 10 years now. ![]()
